How do you break up with a friend?

I've had a friend who I was close to in middle and high school, less so in college and now realize I have nothing in common with her or any reason to want to see her again. I don't by any means hate her, but I've made friends with people who she hates/dislikes and who dislike her. I've basically completely stopped contacting her, visiting her, etc, but now and again, she reaches out to me, usually on my Facebook wall about how she wants me to come visit, catch up, talk about being in my wedding (that I haven't started planning yet) or extend an invitation to her birthday or Christmas party. She lives three hours away and will never visit me. It's always one sided. How can I break it to her that I'm not now nor ever will be coming, I don't want to catch up anymore and I don't think we're friends without just blocking her on Facebook and hoping she takes the hint? I don't want to be a jerk in ending this, but I do want to end it. Any ideas?
