My first time playing planetside 2. My experience thus far

I read a post on r/gaming about map sizes in games. They compared the Battlefield 3 map, caspian border, to planet side 2. I was amazed at the size difference. As an active battlefield player, I was amazed at the scale of the map in this game and the amount of players on a server.

Anyway, I make my account and log in. I had no idea what to do at all. I started shooting at all the enemies that didn't have a blue name tag. After about 30min I started to get the hang of things. How to spawn, classes and guns, and even flown a ship of some sort. I spawned in in a big battle, and just started shooting. Somehow i got points for capturing the base, but I didn't do anything. The game voice was saying "generator disabled" etc. I still have no idea how to disable these.

So far,this game seems fun, bit until I memorize the locations, I will still have a tough time. It took me long enough to Learn the bf3 maps.

PS I downloaded directly from the ps2 website, and after noticed its a steam game. Is there a way to add this to steam without re-downloading?
