Regarding the BSG box sets - which is the best to buy?

I apologize if this isn't the correct subreddit to post this question, but I'm in a bit of a bind here.

I want to get the complete series of BSG on Blu-Ray as a gift for somebody for Christmas, but there are two options available:

The newer, flat box set that includes "The Plan."

The older box set that includes a collectible Cylon. (How frakkin’ cool is that?)

I’d be fine purchasing either, because regardless, it’s an absolutely amazing series.

What I’m concerned with though, is the content that’s included. The newer, flat box set claims it has never-before-seen deleted scenes, and I don’t see anything about that on the details of the box set that includes the Cylon. Also, the newer box set apparently has 1 more disc than the Cylon box set.

Does anyone here know if both box sets contain the same amount of media content? I’d definitely spring for the Cylon one if that were the case.

So for those of you that have purchased these sets or know information about them, which would be the best (content-wise) to buy?

Keep in mind; I’m only looking for information about the Blu-Ray editions.

Help me Reddit, you’re my only hope!
