Sexism

I'm starting over after several failed attempts in the past. Really need to clear out my mind - got some depression issues and other bits and pieces all adding up to a bit of an 'orrible mixture!

Anyway, just a brief thought on the inherent sexism of porn and porn-like thinking (I'm thinking solely along the lines of straight porn involving women). I think that when you think about that, and how women are viewed and treated in society in general, it's definitely a helpful part of the motivation to "be the change you want to see in the world". In my opinion, the idea that sexism has been 'sorted out' in any real sense is a myth. And using porn makes me ashamed to be buying into that misogynistic kind of worldview. Maybe I'm wrong about (straight) porn being inherently sexist, but the way I see it, the kind of impression it gives and the attitudes toward women it represents are at least very problematic.

Would be interested to hear some thoughts!
