Can "slips of the tongue" be transmitted?

It has happened to me as well as to other people around me to 'forget' a word, while having a conversation. By forgetting I mean recalling the sense of the word or the meaning, but not finding the pronunciation.

There's a multitude of theories as to why this happens, but what's interesting is that this 'Freudian slip' can be transmitted. --example-- If Ted has a conversation with Jill, and in the midst of his sentence cannot find the word he wants to use, Jill will have problems recalling the same word, given that she was paying a lot of attention to what Ted was saying, and her knowing or supposing that Ted was going to use that particular forgotten word.

Interestingly enough, I've noticed that even if Ted describes this word, none of the two will be able to say it at that moment. They have to 'snap out of it' to finally say it. I've looked around but haven't found any studies on this particular subject. I considered Mirror Neurons, and a strong sense of empathy as well as non-verbal communication.

Any other ideas?
