[Build Help] Been a long time since I have built. Question about HDMI

I am planning on building a pc primarily for gaming and some video/photo editing. I am also using it for my main media source and will have it hooked up to my projector / surround sound system.

Is there anything besides power that I need to take into account if I want to run a HDMI from the PC to a receiver for sound and then running the video through the receiver to the projector?
