Started a side business while working full time and now looking to change jobs. Do I put the side project on my resume?
There are pretty much two things I'm currently taking into account looking at this:
A) it probably won't look good to employers that I have this going on as it does take some of my time and energy. My current company has no idea about this despite the fact that I'm quite close with most of my coworkers
B) On the flip side the position I'm looking for is likely to be biz dev/marketing/sales (I currently only do sales). With my side business I handle all of this and more which would make me look like a very good, qualified candidate in most circumstances.
Pretty much my dilemma is that I feel like one of the biggest and best things I can put on my resume is also the singular thing that has the chance to kill all interest from a potential employer.
So the question is do I put together two separate resumes and submit them on a case-by-case basis or do I choose to only use one? If so, which one?
Thanks in advance, r/jobs!
