Where can I find non-sketchy CC?

This may seem unbelievable, but I have never used CC or a mod in my game before. I've been playing for almost a year and I finally decided to try and download some CC - nothing complicated, all I'm really looking for is a hairstyle with side-bangs for my female sims. But no matter where I look, when I find something I think I'd like, there's something wrong with it, like it's not been updated for this patch, or when I click the link to the download there's nothing there. I was hoping that someone could tell me where to look to find some safe CC, or even provide a link to one. I don't think I need any help installing it, but just finding some.

Sorry if this kind of post is frowned upon here, I'm a long-time commenter, but never submitted anything before.

Thank you in advance!
