Wii Arcade Stick usable on Wii u games?

Hello fellows, I'm currently thinking about buying the Hori Wii Arcade Stick for the Wii, to play Street Fighter II on the Wii and Tekken 3 and Street Fighter IV on my PC via adapter.
Now as a new Arcade Stick was announced for the Wiiu and the fact that I will upgrade to the Wii U eventually, there is the question: Is that Fighting Stick usuable with Wii U games such as Tekken Tag Tournament 2?
I thought that I just read something about that on this subreddit but I couldn't manage to find it again...
