How does the over current protection work in my power supply?

I have a rather nice Lab Volt power supply that does 0-50V@25W and it has over current protection. If I crank it up to 50V and short it out there is no spark at all and a light comes on. After a quick power cycle its back to normal operation.

How does it work?
