Hacked console emulation VS. PC emulation

I recently have been trying to set up bsnes on my new laptop. Ive tried zsnes and snes9x, but neither of those do smooth scrolling well. I can get the bsnes to run with near perfect, baby smooth scrolling, however when I get it there - the audio crackles. Audio sync + video sync makes it lag.

So now, Im pretty fed up and am thinking about softmodding my wii, and running emulators on there.

Does anyone have experience with hacked console emulators? Do they run faithfully and smooth? Does it have that jittery emulation feel? Are the pixelated or do they have the blur effect? Other pros/cons?
