ELI5: What's the youngest acceptable age to start drinking alcohol?

Various countries have various laws which state a minimum age you can purchase alcohol. But around what age do you think it's OK to start consuming alcohol?

My opinion is that it should not be about age but about personal maturity and your parents should be the ones who decide when you're mature enough to handle Alcohol.
