I would like to make my 1st attempt at Christmas cookie baking, but I might need a little help. . .

As a child I was never able to bake Christmas cookies this time of year. Mostly because my parents where very busy working all year long and partially because my mother was better at baking cakes than cookies. . . So, What are some of recipes and tips that could help me along this season. The recipes I'm really looking for are:

  • Rolled sugar cookies
  • Soft sugar cookies
  • Gingerbread cookies

I know they're common but they can be a bit daunting when you've never baked them before. Feel free to add in any other recipes you think I should give a go, though if you could keep in mind I have a small pantry and an even smaller budget I would appreciate it.
