Annoying keyboard notification help!

I'm new to Android so this might be a bit of a silly question but whenever I have the keyboard open I have this little icon on the top of my screen.

Under notifications I have the option to 'Choose input method'. I can go into that and disable the 'Google voice typing' option (the only other option is Samsung keyboard) will be hidden from my notifications for a few hours and then it'll mysteriously reappear. It's really starting to piss me off, I just want it gone for good! Does anyone have any ideas of how I can sort this out?
