Credit Union offering Accident Insurance is it worth it?
My mom asked if it would be a good idea to get Accident Insurance with the Credit Union
Mom Age: 50 She already has life insurance with Lincoln Benefit (Allstate Life)-100k coverage
You get 2k in coverage free if you enroll with credit union.
To increase coverage (you pay every 3 months)
- 10k = $0.90
- 20k = $1.80
- 30k = $2.70
- 40k = $3.60
- 50k = $4.50 .....
- 200k = $18.00
- 250k = $22.50
I don't really think it's worth it, maybe the 10k coverage. There are a few other perks, like 3% hospital cash benefit, 1% total disability benefit, 50%+ seat belt benefit, and etc.
Exclusions: No benefits are payable for loss resulting from suicide or intentionally self-inflicted injury, war or act of war, committing a crime or attempt to do so, treatment of a physical or mental illness, a voluntary intake of poison, drug or fumes, being intoxicated or under the influence of a narcotic (unless prescribed by a physician); travel or flight as a pilot or crew member in any kind of aircraft.
Coverage: 24 hours, 365 days per year, world-wide accidental death and dismemberment insurance, on or off the job for all covered accidents as long as the group policy remains in force. Full benefits are paid for the loss of life, or loss of both hands or both fee, or sight of both eyes or both speech and hearing. Lesser benefits are payable for other dismemberment. Over age 70, all benefits reduce 50%.
Thank you for any insight you might have.
