My boyfriend is going to prison for eight months. Any redditors out there have any advice for how to cope?

The title pretty well says it all. He's been in jail for two weeks now and they'll be sending him to processing this Thursday or next Friday and decide on a parent prison after that. Does anyone have any advice to make this situation a little easier on both of us? Thanks, Reddit!
