I need to move across the country. I am looking for some advice from people who know cars.

Hi folks. I am planning on moving from Colorado to Florida (~2000 miles) in the next month or so. I have a 1998 Subaru Impreza wagon with 210,000 miles. It is overall in decent shape and I keep up with everything that breaks; but she is a well-used car, and I do spend a lot of time driving her in the mountains and on dirt roads. My first question is: Could this old car feasibly make the trip to Florida, and could it also possibly tow a small (5x8) Uhaul trailer? If so, what should I have checked out before I go?

My second thought is trying to scrape some money together (< $3000) to buy some sort of van or some such larger vehicle to tow my car to Florida. Does such a cheap, strong and reliable(ish) vehicle exist? I should note that I will be making this trip with my dogs and cats, so I do need some space.

You may just tell me to get rid of my car. I love this car more than any other car I have ever had. I feel like she could run forever. Plus I recently dropped $1200 to replace the struts (yes I realize I got ripped off). I feel like I have too much invested in my Subaru to let her go right now and I really do think she has a lot of life left in her. I couldn't get for this car what it is really worth.

You may also wonder why I don't just get a Uhaul and tow my car with that. This is a possibility, I just hate dropping $1700+ to rent a truck. I would prefer to put that money towards the purchase of a van (or something that I could use for fun adventures once I get to Florida)! But if this is the only safe option, so be it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks in advance. Sorry for the lengthy post.
