Is it me, or is the series itself getting closer to FoE.

SPOILERS!!

FoE was written with only the first season in mind. Despite this, I feel the series proper is actually starting have aspects that would easily lead to FoE.

First off, industry. S1 was fairly low-key and closer to medieval society. From s2, we have trains moving not by being pulled, but from coal. We also see a lot of other minor technlogical advancements. While in the show it is still bening, we all know where it will eventually lead.

Second, s1 handled a lot of the 'magic of friendship' aspects, there have been a lot more episodes where the issues aren't always about or even solved by friendship. More recently, a lot of old and dangerous magic has been shown in a very unfunny light (despite the hilarity of the copying-lake, it is clear it was not a good thing Pinkie found it). The alicorn amulet was out and out mind controlling and evil, and Sombra's magic seems as bad.

As sad as it is, I do like the unintended development of the issues that would one day lead to the war.
