My file almost doubled size upon saving. Is there any chance I might run into a problem when printing?

A client sent me a copy of a photo that he would like me to restore. It was a large photo, in TIFF, and the file size was 84,759KB. When I tried to open the file in Photoshop I received the message "Could not complete your request because of a problem parsing the TIFF file." I've never seen this message before. I could still see the photo on the preview, I just could not open it. I tried opening it in Paint and then re-saving it but lost quite a bit of file size. I then tried opening it in Microsoft Office Picture Manager and then re-saving it as a new TIFF file. It worked and can now be opened in Photoshop but the file size has increased from 84,759KB to 127,337KB. I'm thrilled that I can now open it but afraid that even though it looks good on my screen, whatever caused the file to increase in size will cause it to not print well.

Do any of you see any problems that might arise from using this method to open the photo or should I be okay to continue restoring it?
