Why did disco receive so much militant animosity in its time, but modern pop music doesn't?
Disco was driven into the ground when most of the more thought-provoking and virtuous rock music of the time (remaining from the hippie aesthetic) created fans that really hated the simple-minded, sexually motivated, and dance-oriented disco. My question is, why does modern pop music which is more sexually suggestive, requires less work and talent to make, and is, for the most part, mechanically generated with little-to-no emotion, not receive as much animosity?
