Don't fly United!

Apparently United charges $100 to check your snowboard (and $200 internationally)! As somebody who has 3 flights with United in the next few weeks this is a pretty crippling fee. It's too late to salvage any money this trip but can anybody reccomend a more snowboarder friendly airline?
