Snare heads!

So, with Christmas coming up, and my snare sounding like crap with a worn out ambassador and a pearl stock reso, what are some good heads for a pretty "dry" sound with alot of "crack"?

I know it's vague, and it depends alot on the snare, but, just the general directions :p Asking mostly for people's experiences, it's usually better than the info on websites, etc.
