Why is 3d land so well liked?

I found the game to be dull and way too easy. I beat the whole thing with less than 10 hours of gameplay, and I never used a continue, heck I only died twice! On top of that, there are no world themes, the stages are all floating cubes with hardly any diversity, there are God damn tanooki leaves in every stage, and the backgrounds on the stages are generic one color fills. I'm convinced that Nintendo "fans" only like Nintendo games because of the seal of approval on the box, and not on the quality of the game Tl;dr the new super Mario series needs to die
