Tiling help needed. Can I tile over or move this electricity.... box? (x post from r/DIY)

Can anyone tell me if I can just remove the fascia from this cable cover and tile over the space behind it? It's in the area where I'm tiling the splashback and don't really know what its purpose is. It's hiding the connection that takes the cable from the ring main to the extractor fan, but that's all it does. There's no swith or anything on it. Can I just patch over it with a tile or two?
