Critique for lyrics I wrote? Called "Jealousy"
This is my first post. I'm looking for critique on the lyrics, which I'm moderately comfortable with, but if anyone has any ideas how to find someone to write a melody, or any tips on going about such a thing, I would be a happy receiver of that, too.
She's got passionate eyes and a long nose
That'll get you through a drive home
I hate singing about it sometimes but it's such a great love story
Better than the one where I loved you and you didn't love me
She's got a handful of scars that make you wish you knew
A body that a swimsuit wants to fit onto
I don't know why I wished for miracles to come take you away
But what is there but miracles when you've lost the faith to pray
As I'm sitting here in solitude I wish I wasn't so alone
I've waited so long for you to make my arms your home
I know you're cuddled up with her in a quiet spot somewhere
But still I touch your chest and wonder how your hands would feel right there
La di dah, la di dah, what if I sang you to sleep
What if we were dozing peacefully on a quiet stretch of beach
What if I looked into your eyes and knew you were thinking about me
La di dah, la di dah, sometimes I feel so lost
What's it with the stars that had to make our lives this way
What's it with your skin that makes me shiver like it's rain
What's it with her smile that makes you want to just run and run to her
And what is it with mine that makes you want to run away
La di dah, sometimes I feel so lost
La di dah, sometimes I feel so lost
