Does anyone only collect?

For some reasons of nostalgia and some of regular old interest I've been thinking of buying a few packs of MtG cards. I'll probably never play, but I love just seeing the artwork, theorycrafting and reading flavor text. Is this pretty out there? Anyone else a collector only? I did the same thing with Mage Knights a few years back.
