[Troubleshooting] Fan control

Hey guys, I have a pretty loud GPU fan (doesn't really bother me) and i've been trying to mess around with the settings of MSI afterburner to get it somewhat quieter.

I have user defined on and auto off, and the problem is, it's always at 42% fan speed no matter what. I tested with Furmark and the temperature went up to around 85 degrees, but then fan speed stayed at 42%.

I have 4 points in my automatic fan control properties (default),

• 40% at 30 degrees
• 50% at 50
• 80% at 80
• 100% at 90

Why is it that my fan stays at 42%, and how to I make my fan noiseless or quieter?

(I'm not 100% how to use Afterburner, just looking at tutorials and what)
