Masuda Method Question

Hey everyone. Right now I'm trying to hatch a shiny Chimchar with a Japanese Ditto and an Infernape. I have the egg and it is saved to where the next step I take the egg will hatch. I have soft-reseted a few times but haven't gotten it. I know it is also a very slim chance even with the Masuda Method, but the question is,"Can I get my shiny Chimchar by repeatedly soft-reseting with one egg, or do I have to get MANY eggs from the day-care?"
TL;DR: Can I get a shiny by soft-reseting one egg, or do I have to get many eggs to hatch?
