Does your country grant pardons?

Hopefully this is an appropriate subreddit to put this in, but if not, feel free to delete it.

I was just wondering whether your country grants pardons, or criminal record suspensions/deletions, for certain offences. Canada passed a law earlier in the year making it harder for people to be granted a record suspension. Serious crimes like sexual offences against minors are no longer eligible for a record suspension, while others have to wait between 5-10 years depending on the severity of the crime.

What does your country's law say? No, I'm not planning on committing a crime, I'm just curious how Canada's law compares to that of other jurisdictions.
