FCP X and 5D Mark III

Hi, I'm all new to videography and I'm looking for some good guides on how to threat 5D Mark III footage in Final Cut Pro X which is the software I have access to. I have seen amazing films made with the 5D Mark III but what I get straight out of the camera looks pretty dull. I'm making a short documentary/introduction to an NGO working in Belize so most, if not all footage is in a jungle setting, a lot of green and plenty of details.

The video will be as basic as possible, all shoots on a tripod, no panning. Anyone have any tips on how to improve the 1080p30 footage from the 5D3 so it looks more crisp and vibrant? Any good video guides out there?
