A Question About Availability

I recall hearing that close to December, it becomes much harder to find anything better than mids (on the East Coast anyway). This certainly seemed true last year, as there was a shortage of quality weed towards the end of the year, with great bud being available again around springtime. Now, though, I have no idea whether or not this is really the case. I want to know whether or not I should drop my money now, or wait until 2013.
