how does samas's arm cannon work

i for some reason started wondering how her arm canon works. my hypothesis is perhaps the charge beam and power beam are formed from planetary energy that is perhaps siphoned into the gun then i think there is an area where the planetary energy is stored and can be released into the cannon's shaft to charge, i think perhaps she also has three slots to add expansions that she obtained before the prime trilogy before then the beam expansion was just all present and not selective, i think that the planetary energy has the beam extension added into it such as dark or light energy, or cold, heat, electricity. and last the missile launcher is behind what i have dubbed the charge bay so that if she fires a missle it can shoot through the energy inside the charge bay and become super powered, doesn't exactly explain continuous charge combos in prime 1 but closest i could come up with. so what are your opinions and if anything in my hypothesis dosent make sense feel free to point it out to me.
