How bad could it be?

Hi there,

So I'm AMAB, currently presenting as a vaguely genderqueer male. I've been 95% sure for a long while now that what I really want is to transition. Being male is something that bothers me pretty much 24/7 - all those little irritating things, from being called "sir" to having to leave my friends to use a different bathroom - it all pissed me off. I've lived my life so far as a "girly guy" but it just doesn't seem to be cutting it for me anymore.

But here's the thing: it bugs me. It annoys me. But it doesn't do much more than that. It's not destroying my life. I know what its like to be in a place internally that is tearing your life apart & makes you want to die. This ain't it. It's just a nuisance. It's uncomfortable, not unlivable - at least, right now.

When I think of transitioning, it feels wonderfully right. But I can't deny that it would be an incredibly drastic intervention for something that is really not damaging my life that much. Should it be like this? Should I transition just because I think it would be nice? Or should it only be something I do if it's absolutely necessary?
