I want to build a homemade pipe out of stuff I could buy at maybe a hardware store - I'd like some tips.

As much as I love using joints and glass pipes, I kinda want to switch it up a little. I'm a little bored (and dry) on a sunday and I can't pick up until later today. So, I figure going to the hardware store and making a pipe in the meantime would be fun!

I've heard of people making pipes from metal tubing and sockets and the like. I'd like to just go to the hardware store, buy some parts and make myself a cool little pipe!

Problem is I don't really know what I'm doing so I would like some advice. Maybe some pointers on what kind of stuff to buy or even a guide to making something if you feel inclined.

Yes, yes, I realize I could go to any headshop and get a cheap pipe but I want the satisfaction of it being home made. Also i'd like to spend less than $30 if possible.
