If Mason Crosby were an average kicker...
He would be kicking at about 85%, which is the average over the entire NFL this season.
85% of his 22 attempts would be almost 19 field goals. He currently has 13. Those six field goals are (obviously) worth eighteen points.
We lost to Indy by 3 points, Seattle by 2 points (Fuck Golden Tate), and to SF by 8 points. That means to win those games, we would have had to make two FGs in the Indy game, one FG in the Seattle game, and three FGs in the SF game to win.
Unless I am incorrect, that is 6 field goals; the exact number separating Mason Crosby from being an AVERAGE kicker in the NFL.
I understand this is a little close minded to imagine that six of Crosby's missed FGs would/could be applied to these three games specifically, but this drives me nuts.
