Thinking about getting a bird - Advice needed

Hi there r/parrots! After hearing my boyfriend rave about his beloved hahns macaw he had over a year ago I started wondering if maybe it would be good to get myself a small companion bird. A macaw would definitely be too much, but I was wondering if a cockatiel would be good for a beginner like me. I found an adorable young cockatiel in my local pet store that has been hand raised and is very sweet and healthy that I am considering purchasing. What are some things I should expect, as well as tips for training and taking care of a cockatiel?
