Xbox live prize?

So I got an email from Microsoft that I have gotten a prize for re activating my live. This just seems fishy because I redeem my prize by going go a website and enter my email, which seems odd. The email had a halo 4 banner and Microsoft badges. Just wondering if anyone has gotten this, is it a scam or am I being to cautious.
