The Plot to Sonic 06

Since the Grumps are never gonna pay attention enough to care, I'm just gonna toss up a casual remembering of the plot from playing the game four years ago because I'm bored. :v

Okay Sonic's story is that Princess Elise has the light half (Iblis) of a sun god (Solaris) in her that lets her do the sandwalking aura thingy. Robotnik wants to harness her powers to take over the world. That's pretty much all of the plot to Sonic's story because Sonic is mostly incidental in this game. He just spends his time rescuing the same girl over and over again.

Shadow's story (which I remember the least clearly) is that due to a time travel thing, the shadow half (Mephiles) of the sun god mimics his form and Mephiles intends to unleash Iblis from Elise, fuse back into him, and completely fuck shit up. That's why Crisis City is a complete wasteland, he's in a timeloop with a future where he already won. Shadow pretty much spends the game attempting to stop the actual plot, as Mephiles is a lot more important to the story than Robotnik is.

Silver's plot is that he lives in the fucked up future. Mephiles tells Silver that Sonic is responsible for fucking up the future, which is technically true but in reality Sonic causes the future by dying, and because Elise really loves him (???????) Sonic's death causes some sort of Vast Agony that unleashes Iblis and allows the future to get fucked up. But Mephiles only tells Silver the whole "Sonic will fuck your future" part, so Silver goes back in time and tries to kill Sonic.

At the end, Sonic and Elise use time travel to essentially completely undo this game from the main timeline by making sure Elise never becomes a demigod, just turning it into a harmless offshoot timeline that reappears in Sonic Generations because the Time Eater can access split timelines.

So yeah, the whole game is essentially pointless from all contexts.
