Spider mod

Hi guys, I'm sure you get this alot, but would anyone here know of a mod to remove the spiders in game, or change their models, or anything? Also, to address some of the questions I think this'll get

-I have tried using the python script fix found here (http://www.grimrock.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1636&start=20) but I must simply be too technologically incompetent, because I can't get it to work. If anyone could provide a more detailed breakdown of how to execute this, that would be much appreciated as well. The farthest I've gotten is creating the unspider.py file and moving it to the the python directory, along with copying grimrock.dat to the python directory (for me it's c:\python27). Trying to run unspider.py after that just gives me a syntax error

-I realize I should probably "get over it", but if I could play the vanilla version I would. It's just an intuitive thing, and I simply can't play as it is. I've tried to get over it, I've tried to keep playing, but I just can't move past it.
