LPT: How to get free food to chain restaurants (Both fast food and not)

Note - Not advising that anyone abuse this, but you can legitimately get lots of free food AND help the restaurant out as well.

Many restaurants will give out coupons for free food in return for feedback on their restaurant. They are desperate for feedback and have customer support departments that will take care of people who give them the feedback they need. To get ahold of these coupons, you simply go online to their website and look for the "contact" or "feedback" links that most of them have. Fill out the forms with the true details of your experience, and take a minute and give them good solid feedback. Usually you will be required to enter personal information including your address and/or phone number and this is how you will receive your free food coupons. Sometimes they WILL call you to talk to you about your experience. Don't worry..they don't bite!

All they want is real customer input...so take some time and do it right. And don't just give them feedback for bad experiences....give them feedback about great experiences or service as well! While most of my comments arose from a negative experience or issue that I was seeking for them to correct, I've also given positive feedback and gotten the same free-food response as well. Just make sure you're being polite and helpful when you write. Sometimes you will only get a thank you...but this is rare in my experience.

Here are some examples of the free items I've gotten over the years:
Carl's Jr - Stack of free burger coupons handed to me in person
Pizza Hut - One entire free pizza coupon in the mail
Taco Bell - Free value meal coupons in the mail
In N Out - Free value meal coupons in the mail
Red Lobster - $30 gift certificate in the mail
Burger King - Free meal, only they called me and wrote my name down, I had to tell them my name at the window to redeem.
McDonald's - Free value meal (They called me on the phone)
Outback - Free bloomin' onion coupons handed to me in person, free $25 off next purchase in the mail

So if you have a good or bad experience...just look for a website feedback form and fill it out. Don't complain at the window that "last time you were here they got your burger wrong!!" just go online and let them know.
