Non-leather boots for $75?

Hi everyone, just looking for some advice. I came across a pair of boots for $75 that I thought looked pretty good. You can see them here: http://www.renuar.co.il/man/Shoes_men?product_id=1580 . When I went to try them on, the sales person told me that they were fake leather. I tried them on anyway, and they felt pretty good. However, I wanted to run it past MFA first for any comments. Some things I'm worried about are:

1. is $75 too much for non-leather boots?
2. I want them to be at least water resistant, at least enough that I can wear them around a city in rainy weather, which the sales guy said they should be. Not great for hiking in puddles, but good enough for regular rain and small puddles. Based on what little knowledge we have of these boots (fake leather and what they look like), do you think this is accurate?
3. do they actually look good?
