Help me, help my mother.
Hello!
I'm trying to put together a small program for my mother. She is about to turn 50 and she wants to take better care of her self. So I thought I would help her. I was hoping you could give me some advice on how to build a program for her.
Two requirements:
-
It shouldn't be to long.
-
She have some lower back pain from time to time, so it should be strengthening her back too.
Here is what I had in mind:
Warmup - The mobility warmup form phraktured's "Molding mobility".
10 - 20 reps of:
-
Wall extensions
-
Band Dislocates
-
Cat/Camel bends
-
Full Body Circles
-
Front Leg Swings
-
Side Leg Swings
The Workout
To save time I was hoping she could do a circuit of:
-
Pushups
-
Rows
-
Squats
-
Glute Bridges / Light Deadlifts once a week.
and repeat 3 times.
Then end things with Phraktures "Starting Stretching".
I think that doing all sets of each exercise before moving to the next, would simply take up to much time for her.
And finally, I was thinking of letting her do the 5 - 8 rep range. And never to go to failure.
A couple of other things you might need to know about:
-
She hasn't trained much before.
-
She is a bit overweight.
Please give me all the feedback you can!
