Why aren't there any Gas Moons? Is this unique to our Solar System? Why/why not?

Astronomy

My feeling is that if there was any Gas moons in the past, constant radiation from the Sun, coupled with the larger gravity of the planet would've destroyed them. Is my hypothesis correct, or no?
