Is there a way I can start talking to my ex(18M) without seeming clingy? I an F(17)

My ex boyfriend of 2 months dumped me saying many different things. Some of which were

I don't feel I can give you the time you deserve

or

if it was going to be anyone, it would be you.

He seems to be somewhat over me, or tried to get built into someone and failed, last weekend. However, the things he said to me gives me a chance of hope, does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can subtly text/fb message him, so we can start talking. Perhaps remind him of our good times together?
