Help with docking

HI Everyone,

I am having trouble/completely unable to get two objects to dock. I can't even get them in close proximity.

I can use the maneuver thing to have the same orbits but they invariably end up seperate.

I've seen in some comment sections that there is a way to make the object that you want to dock with a target (is that what 'set target is'?) But I don't see the target speed and it doesn't seem to change anything on my navball when i set my station core as target in the orbit map.

Any help would be much appreciated!
