What was your very first experience on the internet?

It was 1994, I was 10 years old, and a friend of mine urged me to go with him to the library, because he wanted to try the internet. I said "Ok", even though I had absolutely no idea what all the fuss was about (It was the first time I remember even hearing about it). We grabbed our bikes, and hurried our asses down to the library. There was this one computer, in the middle of all the bookshelves, with access to the world wide web (I think it was the only computer with access in our city).

So what did we use it for? We went to a chat and began trolling people. We pretended to be a 17-year old guy, and then we tried to set up a date with a girl at a rock concert. We actually sort-of managed to do it, and after this awesome success, we would go to the library often, only to troll people or to chat regularly. It didn't take long before I'd go there alone. I finally convinced my parents to get a modem in 1997. And life has never been so wasted since.

Give me your juicy stories, Reddit! Age doesn't matter.

EDIT: 6 replies, and we've already covered porn, trolling, and pictures of cats. How times have changed, huh?
