Warm grey or deep red for living room in a 1861 Victorian House?
Hello all, I was wondering if any of you might help me consider the pros and cons of choosing a color for the living room of my new house. I've never gotten the chance to choose the color of my walls before and it's driving me a little crazy!
The previous owners of the house have the living room currently this cold icy blue and I want to change it to something that would coordinate better with the dark yellow front parlor (which I don't want to change) as well as my existing furnishings.
The couch that's going in there is black leather. The rug and pillows/lampshade are all deep red already so...if I paint the walls that color as well, will it be just too much red and thus boring? The right wall will be 90% white since it's a floor to ceiling brick fireplace (which you can't quite see in the picture). The grey I'm considering as an alternative is Benjamin Moore's Smoked Oyster.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
