If you could design a college semester/term with courses taught by anyone (dead or alive) in the world, who would teach them and what would be the subjects?
I went with 5 choices as that is the usual number of courses in an American college semester. If you are outside America, feel free to make choices in accordance with your educational system.
-
How to Conquer the World, taught by Alexander the Great. Genghis Khan loses out on account of being extremely intimidating and probably not shying away from using capital punishment and torture on students.
-
A travel writing class taught by Rick Steves. Attendance on class trips to Europe during break would be mandatory.
-
Wartime diplomacy and leading a state during wartime taught by Winston Churchill. Churchill gets chosen over Franklin Delano Roosevelt since the class only concerns wartime issues.
-
The American Civil War and the Splitting of the Union taught by Abraham Lincoln.
-
High end-cooking taught by Thomas Keller of The French Laundry and Per Se.
