My cigar cracked while I was smoking it last night. Why?

So I was smoking a La Aurora and after the first third the cigars wrapper just started to crack. After about 5mn of me watching this cigars wrapper continue to crack the entire wrapper just fell of leaving only the filler. I couldn't finish the cigar. I got his cigar a week ago from Cigar.com and I have left it in the bagy with a humidipack thing that they sent it in. So what went wrong? Did I let it get to dry?
