This method might seem a little drastic, but there's no way it could fail!

I think I may have figured out an easy, fool-proof way of greatly increasing you chances of lucid dreaming.

First, you need to go find a dead squirrel (stick with me here). Now take it home, hold it up to the sun and proclaim something along the lines of, "I DUB THEE MR. FLUFFLES, THE DREEEAAAM SQUIRREL!"

Now take it inside and shave his belly. (It might be a good idea to use a disposable razor for this part) Now use a permanent marker to write "Am I dreaming?" on the exposed skin.

Now use a shrink-wrapping machine to shrink-wrap it. If you don't have a shrink-wrapper, find someone who does. (Just tell them you need it to wrap up some meat. It's technically the truth.) Now stick it in the freezer. We want to avoid decomposition here.

At this stage you have two options...

  1. Hang it from a string over your bed at night.

  2. Slide it under your mattress.

My theory here is that there is NO WAY your subconscious brain is going to forget that there is a dead, frozen squirrel hanging above your head or underneath you while you sleep. And since you have tied the squirrel to dreaming, every time the thought of it slips into your consciousness, you will remember to do a reality check!

The advantage of putting it under the mattress will be the lump that it creates. Every time you feel the squirrel lump in your sleep, you will think about dreaming.

Finally, don't forget about germs. Use gloves, common sense, Lysol, etc. HAPPY DREAMING!

BTW: I know that this is a really weird idea, but you can't deny it's potential effectiveness:)
